University of Sheffield English Language Teaching Centre

The ELT Centre is a central support service of the University. We offer a wide range of English language courses and services.

Our staff have experience of teaching international students in a wide range of locations and situations, both in the UK and overseas.

Facilities at the Centre include classrooms, computer suites as well as audio-visual equipment and resources.

Students come here for both short and long periods of study and we are confident that we can help you to choose the right course to suit your needs.

• Academic English Preparatory Course
  The AEPC is a full-time course which runs throughout the academic year (Sept. - June.) The minimum period of study is 4 weeks.
• International Summer School
  During the Summer we offer Pre-sessional English (for students preparing to enter university) and a General English programme.
• Management English
  Our Management English section specialise in courses for business people and for students who are preparing to study Management and Business related courses.
• Teaching Training and Development
  We offer intial teaching training with TKT, CELTA and PTLLS, as well as more advanced qualifications, such as the Delta Modules, Overseas Teacher Refresher courses and specialist development programmes.
• Special courses
  We are able to offer special courses designed to meet the particular requirements of groups of students or individuals.
