Aims of the Course

The course will have a large proportion of discussion and reflection, giving teachers a chance to look at their teaching style and take a fresh approach to teaching. On completion of the course students will take the TKT exam at the end of the programme (please take this into consideration when booking flights).

Course Outline

This course is intended for overseas teachers of English discover new methodology, and learn about British culture. The course offers 30 hours input per week, combining language enhancement and teaching methodology. The course is suitable for teachers specialising in teenage and adult students. Candidates should have experience of teaching and at least an Upper Intermediate level of English

This course is a chance for teachers to reflect on their teaching style and look at methods and approaches, including communicative language learning, task based learning, direct method, content based learning (CLIL) and others. The course will also look at using media, songs and texts in language teaching and teaching the four skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary.
