Students joining this programme will take General English group classes, at the appropriate level, each morning from 09.15 - 12.30.

In the afternoons, participants then join Medical English classes, from 13.30 - 15.00 (5 days per week if taught in a small group; 3 days per week if taught on a 1:1 basis).

Students are placed into the morning group classes based on both their age, and their level of English, which we assess ahead of arrival. The afternoon classes are eithersmaller group classes, or 1:1 tuition, and we group together adults of similar interests and backgrounds for this.

We ask those joining the English + English for Healthcare option to complete a Needs Analysis, giving some background about their work and their specific needs, to help ensure the tuition is tailored to be as productive as possible. Medical English topics covered usually include:

- Presentation and Public Speaking Skills

- Common Medical Abbreviations

- Formal Report Writing

- Patient Communication Skills

- Analysis of Data

- Area-specific vocabulary and phrasing - for example, for nursing, or for haemotology experts

- Preparation, if required, for the OET exam
