Whilst we are working through the Covid-19 pandemic the University of Wolverhampton's International Academy is providing English language courses which range from fully online Pre-sessional English language courses for 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5 entry. Blended learning International Foundation Years and online Summer and Winter Schools for 2021. Our IELTS Preparation course is currently postponed and our fully online OET for nurses course is undergoing further development. We continue to provide ongoing online undergraduate and postgraduate language support and our new online MA Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) course starts in September 2021. We are accredited by the British Council for face-to-face teaching.

Our online and blended learning International Foundation Year courses
We offer two International Foundation Year (IFY) programmes, allowing progression onto a wide range of undergraduate degrees at the University of Wolverhampton.
.The 4 year integrated degree International Foundation Year (IFY) programme
.The 1 year stand alone International Foundation Year (IFY)
The 4 Year IFY integrated degree routes in Arts; Education, Health and Wellbeing, Science and Engineering and Social Sciences are designed for international students (or for students for whom English is not their first language) and who wish to study a full-time degree course at the University of Wolverhampton but do not have the required level of English or academic qualifications. The IFY courses prepare students in academic subjects, English language and study skills enabling progression onto most undergraduate degree courses at the Univeristy of Wolverhampton, upon sucessful completion and subject to professional body requirements. The IFY is delivered at both of our Telford and City campuses. Entry to these foundation programmes may require you to have studied specific subjects at high school, please check individual course entry requirements.
The 1 Year stand alone IFY course is designed for international students (or for students for whom English is not their first language) whose qualifications are insufficient for direct entry to undergraduate study and/or those whose English language level does not meet the minimum entry criteria. The 1 Year IFY course provides preparation in academic subjects, English language and study skills up to the required level for progression onto most undergraduate degree courses at the University of Wolverhampton (upon successful completion and subject to professional body requirements) in Arts; Education, Health and Wellbeing, Science and Engineering and Social Sciences. The IFY is delivered at our Telford and City campuses. Entry to these foundation programmes may require you to have studied specific subjects at high school. Pre-sessional English language courses - online/blended learning
The Pre-sessional English language courses are designed for international students (or for students for whom English is not their first language) who wish to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level but do not have the required level of English. We offer varying lengths of Pre-sessional English language courses to suit different levels of learners which, upon succesful completion and subject to professional body requirements, enable progression to most undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Wolverhampton. Please check individual course entry requirements. (Please note that entry levels are subject to minimum band scores).
The Wolverhampton Summer and Winter School programmes 2022
The International Academy offers Summer and Winter School programmes at Telford campus where classes are held in the historic Priorslee Hall which is surrounded by countryside but remains close to motorway and rail networks enabling easy travel to London, with a journey time of 2 hours 30 minutes and Birmingham being just 30 minutes away. Priorslee Hall offers a safe, friendly environment with social facilities that include a games room, piano, TV and an outdoor sports field. Priorslee Hall is just a short walk from the Telford student accommodation at the University of Wolverhampton, restaurant and learning centre and a free regular shuttle bus is available to Wolverhampton City campus. Telford town centre is close by and has many shops, restaurants and places of entertainment. You can improve your English skills, enhance your knowledge of a subject of special interest (see below) and visit some of the U.K.'s major tourist attractions on guided weekly excursions. Course content: You will receive 14 hours a week of study in an interactive group setting, covering all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. (Max class size: 22)
