Welcome to United Kingdom Education Centre (UKEC) Academy! We are a vibrant, British Council accredited English language school offering high-quality English language courses in Manchester city centre.

For over 15 years we have operated as Excel College English & IELTS Academy but at the start of 2019 have changed our name to UKEC Academy! During the last 15 years we have welcomed international students from all over the world to study English and during that time have built an excellent reputation for quality teaching, exam success and a very friendly welcome.

We offer General English courses for students aged 16+ at every level from Beginner to Advanced. We are a specialist provider of IELTS preparation courses and also help students prepare for Trinity (GESE and ISE) and Cambridge (FCE, CAE and CPE) exams. 

Our experienced teachers use a communicative approach and a wide range of material to improve your skills in all aspects of the English language. With additional One-to-One classes and guided self study, we can tailor an English course to your needs and help you to meet your objectives.

We also offer homestay and flatshare accommodation, a calendar of regular social events and the option to volunteer within the Manchester community, so you will have lots of opportunity to make new friends and practise English outside of the classroom too.
