Other Information

The International Foundation Year is designed for international students who wish to study for a degree in their chosen Faculty at the University of Wolverhampton but don't have the right qualifications to move straight onto a degree course. It develops the skills you need for studying at degree level and provides the opportunity to experience University life, preparing you for the next level in your studies.

International Foundation Year options

You can choose from one of four International Foundation Years, depending on your interests and the degree you would like to move on to. To find out what your chosen course involves, including information on entry requirements, fees and how to apply, please select from the following:

BA (Hons) with International Foundation Year - Full-time (4 year study option)

Internatonal Foundation Year - Full-time (1 year study option)

The International Foundation Year develops the level of English and the academic skills required to study successfully for a degree in the UK.  There is an International Foundation Year for every degree at the University of Wolverhampton, with the exception of courses that lead to a professional qualification such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Social Work and Teaching.

Special features include the opportunity to join in Semester 1 or 2 and the course gives you an introduction to your chosen specialist subject and the expectations of an undergraduate degree.  The International Foundation Year also provides a solid foundation in English and key academic skills that support degree-level study, such as research, referencing, paraphrasing and note-taking in lectures.
