​General English language courses at International House London are practical and interactive. We focus on learning through communication rather than lecturing. You are encouraged to use your language skills inside and outside the classroom, in a variety of social situations. This will help you make faster progress and improve your general English ability.

Our course  will help you improve English language skills in the core areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing. The course is ideal for busy people and students who want to learn how to speak better English in the heart of London. Our School of English caters for all English language levels, from elementary to advanced learners.

• 20 lessons per week (55 minutes each), Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 12.00 with a 15 minute break and from 12.15 - 13.10. Total lesson time each week: 18 hours and 20 minutes.

• Study for any duration from two to 48 weeks.

• This course covers core English language skills with an emphasis on improving your fluency and building confidence when speaking English.

• The additional lesson each day allows you to focus on a specific language area.

• If your course is 24 weeks or longer you can transfer to a Cambridge Exam Preparation or IELTS Course at no extra cost depending on your level.

• The maximum class size is 14 students - with a class average of ten.

• Minimum entry age for this course is 16 years old.
